'Korean Comfort Girl' Paper Replica
Commissioned by Arcola Theatre, I needed to create a 1:1 replica of the 'Korean Statue of Peace' dedicated to 'comfort women', a euphemism for women who were sexually exploited by the Japanese military during the Second World War. This replica was made in 3 days and was required to be made completely out of paper and tape, as well as have a 'paper' finish. To allow it to fit within the overall 'design aesthetic' of the show.
